(Silberne Verdienstmedaille mit Bandspange “1914”) Post 1914. Constructed of silvered war alloy (non-magnetic); the obverse depicting a leftward facing bust of Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse depicting a Merit Cross, circumscribed “FIDELITER ET CONSTANTER” (Latin - Faithfully and Consistently); on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 33.74 mm in diameter; weighing 19.6 grams with its ribbon; in overall very fine condition.
