Germany. A Wound Badge, Black Grade, in its LDO Presentation Case

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz) Constructed of oval shaped blackened metal (magnetic); the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; maker marked “L/56” for “Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse; measuring 36.87 mm (w) x 44.04 mm (h); weighing 14.6 grams. Accompanied by its LDO presentation case, constructed of carstock, with “LDO” printed on the interior of the lid; measuring 41 mm (w) x 58 mm (h); in overall near mint condition.
