Germany. Waffen-SS Shoulder Straps for a Panzer SS-Junker

Straps are constructed of black rayon/wool bland, with 10mm wide light gray NCO’s tresse on the outer edges, and piped with pink Waffenfarbe rayon threads (indicating Panzer units); superimposed and sewn on the ends are two rows of NCO tresse in bright silver flatwire, on black rayon backing; underside of the strap and tongues are constructed of Army/Heer field gray rayon/wool bland. In extremely fine condition.

Footnote: SS-Junker or Standartenjunker was a paramilitary Nazi rank that was used by the Schutzstaffel (SS) between the years of 1933 and 1945. The rank was a special position held by those aspiring for officer commissions in the armed wing of the SS, first known as the SS-Verfügungstruppe and later as the Waffen-SS.
