Germany. A War Merit Cross First Class with Swords in Case

(Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern). A Maltese cross in silvered feinzink; the obverse with crossed swords between the arms of the cross and a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center; the reverse plain, with a vertical slender banjo style pinback, with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch; measuring 48.3 mm (w) x 48.2 mm (h); with the majority of its original silver finish intact; in very fine condition. In case of issue, unmarked, push button working well, showing age and wear, in good condition.
