Construted of silvered cupal; the shield; featuring national eagle with swooped down wings, clutching a wreathed swastika; inscribed “Narvik” in capital letters, with an Edelweiss flower (representing the Heer) in the center between the date “1940” and a crossed anchor (representing the Kriegsmarine) and propellor (representing the Luftwaffe) on the obverse; the reverse with its backing plate intact, as well as its four prongs - one of which has been replaced; the wool backer with light to moderate mothing; measuring 54 mm (w) x 101 mm (h); in overall near very fine condition.
