Lübeck. A Hanseatic Cross

(Hanseatenkreuz). A cross pattee; constructed of silvered bronze; with red enameled arms; the obverse with a center medallion depicting a silvered Lübeck coat of arms; the reverse inscribed in the centre with “Für Verdienst im Kriege 1914” (For Merit in War 1914); on loop for suspension; measuring 39.46 mm (w) x 39.52 mm (h); weighing 16.7 grams; with contact marks throughout; in overall better than fine condition.
