A round silver medal; the obverse depicting a rightward facing Emperor Karl, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed “Der Tapferkeit” (German - For Bravery), within a laurel wreath within Austrian flags in the background; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with three repetition clasps (indicating four awards); marked with a Vienna assay city mark on the rim of the medal; measuring 40.30 mm in diameter; in overall extremely fine condition.
