Germany, Wehrmacht. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade, by Steinhauer & Lück

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of oval shaped gilded zink; the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin - marked “4” for “Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse of the pin, integrated hinge, and an integrated catch; measuring 36.60 mm (w) x 44.21 mm (h); weighing 24.4 grams; in overall near extremely fine condition.
