(Nishan-i-Sardari). Sardar-i-A'ala. Instituted by King Amanullah in 1923. Type III. Issue 1926-1929. Of local manufacture, sash badge consisting of a upward facing crescent moon in bronze, centre presenting two crossed silver sabres with silver Pakol with plume, engraved Arabic makers mark on centre of crescent moon, measuring 45 mm (w) x 59 mm (h), on period and original silk sash, very fine. Accompanied by the star of the order, hollow bronze gilt, consisting seven arms, each groups of four individual rays, with a Pakol with plume in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting Emir's tugra (seal), Arabic script surround, reverse with pin assembly, measuring 79.5 mm (w) x 76 mm (w), with gilt only remaining on solder points, very fine.
