Saxony, Kingdom. A General Medal of Merit, Bronze Grade, with Sword Clasp

(Allgemeine Ehrenzeichen in Bronze mit Schwerterspange). A round bronze medal; the obverse depicting the leftward facing bust of Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed “DEM VERDIENSTE, 1914” (German - For Merit) within an oak wreath; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a sword clasp; measuring 36.14 mm in diameter; weighing 28.3 grams; in overall very fine condition.
