Air gunners badge with lightening bolts, an early version in "neusilber", thin construction (so called thin wreath), eagle patinated, catch and barrel hinge in tombac; measures 41.4mm x 52.25mm, it weighs 25.0 grams, maker marked on reverse "CEJ" (for "C.E. Juncker, Berlin") with excellent details and fine old patina, very well preserved, slightly worn, in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by its early style presentation case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a lightly textured blue faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the case embossed “Luftwaffenfliegerschützenabzeichen” in golden lettering; with a lined interior lid, with a slotted medal bed, intact fabric hinge cover, functional spring catch with stud release, and a functional exterior metal hinge; case in overall extremely fine condition. A very scarce and desirable badge in great condition.
