A first war veteran’s medal bar with five medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of 1) An Iron Cross 1914 Second Class “Eisernes Kreuz 1914 2. Klasse”; a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; on loop for suspension; the obverse with a raised central “W”, with the re-institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse with a central oak-leaf branch consisting of three oak leaves, with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbers on the lower arm, a raised Prussian crown on the upper arm, with “FW” in equally raised lettering directly below; measuring 42.86 mm (w) x 43.03 mm (h). 2) A Bremen Hanseatic Cross (Hanseatenkreuz); a silvered bronze cross with red enameled arms; the obverse with a center medallion depicting a silvered Bremen coat of arms; the reverse inscribed in the centre with “Für Verdienst im Kriege 1914” (For Merit in War 1914); on loop for suspension; measuring 39.59 mm (w) x 39.73 mm (h). 3) A First War Period Hindenburg Cross “Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918”; a bronzed metal (magnetic) cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse inscribed with “1914/1918” within an open-ended laurel wreath; the reverse plain; measuring 37.92 mm (w) x 37.85 mm (h). 4) A Civil Faithful Service Medal for 25 Years of Service (Treudienst Ehrenzeichen für 25 Jahre Dienst); Constructed of silvered bronze with black enamels; on a loop for suspension; measuring 40.82 mm (w) x 40.74 mm (h). 5) A Hungarian Commemorative Medal for the war 1914-1918; constructed of silvered bronze; measuring 36.95 mm in diameter; zink core; lightly faded black wool backer; horizontal pinback; measuring 151 mm (w) x 58 mm (h); in overall better than very fine condition.
