Constructed of silver; the obverse depicting a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons superimposed on a cross; the reverse inscribed “Medaille für Deutsche Volkspflege” (Medal for German Social Welfare); on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 38.09 mm in diameter; weighing 23.0 grams; the miniature similar in appearance; in overall better than very fine condition.
