In bronze, measuring 39 mm (w) x 44.5 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, bronze laurel wreath clasp on its original ribbon, designating it as 3rd class, extremely fine.

Footnote: In 1916, the provisional government in Thessaloniki decided to strike a medal called a ""Military Medal"". It was finally confirmed later by Royal Decrees and was re-named ""Medal of Military Merit"". It was initially awarded for distinguished acts in time of war, to those serving in the Armed Forces. Later, until 1974, for commanding abilities and continuous service in time of peace, to those serving in the Armed Forces and the Public Security Corps. It was awarded in four classes: 1st Class with a gold gilt laurel wreath on the ribbon, 2nd Class with a silver laurel wreath on the ribbon, 3rd Class with a bronze laurel wreath on the ribbon and 4th Class with a plain ribbon. 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
