A silver medal; the obverse depicting the crowned royal monogram of King Friedrich III; the reverse inscribed “Verdienst um den Staat” (German - Merit for the State) within a laurel wreath tied together at the base via a ribbon; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 39.63 mm in diameter; weighing 32.0 grams; in overall very fine condition.
