Germany. A Cased Wound Badge, Gold Grade, by the Official Vienna Mint

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold mit Etui). Constructed of oval shaped gilt tombac; the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, and a functional hinge/catch assembly; marked “30” on the reverse for the Official Vienna Mint; measuring 36.31 mm (w) x 43.84 mm (h); weighing 34.4 grams; accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy cardstock with a lightly textured black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; with a lined interior lid, slotted medal bed, intact fabric hinge cover, functional spring catch with stud release, and functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (h); in virtually mint condition.
