(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber). An oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered die stamped tombac (only traces of silver plating remains), with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a flat wire catch; an unmarked example; measuring 47.5 mm (w) x 60.6 mm (h); reverse scratched with initials "N H"; well worn early example, obverse coated with clear lacquer.
