Schutz-Verkehrspolizei Schirmmütze. The exterior of the cap is constructed of white cotton, featuring a traditional high peak crown with tightly seated and even green piping on the top and bottom edges of the cap band. The cap band itself is constructed of dark brown wool. On the front of the cap is a metal tri-colour cockade with a traditional silvered aluminum police eagle attached directly beneath. The visor is crafted of black faux leather (leatherette) and is lacquered in matte black on the obverse and with a green checkered pattern on the reverse, remaining firmly attached to the cap. The chin cord consists of a main cord crafted of multiple thick strands of twisted bullion cords, as well as two sliders constructed of four strands of thin twisted bullion cord, and is attached to either side of the cap via a silvered pebbled metal (magnetic) button. The interior of the cap is lined in white silk with a clear celluloid diamond sewn to the reverse of the crown, marked “Erel Sonderklasse, Berlin” with the addition of a sticker that advertises the function of the ventilated sweatband. The sweatband itself is made of tan coloured faux leather (leatherette) and is sewn to the edge of the cap via tan threads. It is marked as well in silver, but the writing is not legible. It measures 250 mm (w) x 263 mm (h). A lightly worn example in overall near extremely fine condition.
