(Remontenamtsvorsteher der Heeresverwaltung Waffenrock). This is a well-preserved Heeresverwaltung/HV (Military Administration) officer’s tunic constructed of a smooth, field-grey wool exterior with a black rayon-blended interior lining. The collar, constructed of smooth forest green wool, is flanked by collar tabs consisting of like-coloured wool upon which sit two machine-embroidered twisted gold wire columns in the style of an officer. The tabs, bordered by vibrant red “Waffenfarbe” piping indicating that the wearer was part of the “Politischen Verwaltungsbereich” (Civil Service) of the HV, each measure 75 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). Inside the collar, two metallic hooks are set into the material on the right, meeting an equal number of metallic hooks on the left to ensure a flush fit with the wearer’s neck. The shoulders are flanked by boards constructed of a hunter green wool base underneath a red wool layer bearing machine-embroidered silver aluminum bullion wire with a single green line, presented in an interwoven fashion. In the middle of each shoulder board rests a stylized gilt brass “HV” insignia pinned through the underside of the wool, indicating that this tunic was worn by a Remontenamtsversteher (the HV equivalent of Major). The boards are secured to the tunic by stitching at the outside of the shoulder and by a single pebbled metallic button at the inside. The top right breast of the tunic bears a forest green wool patch upon which rests an NSDAP Parteiadler (Party Eagle) constructed of machine-embroidered silver aluminum bullion wire, with overall dimensions of 111 mm (w) x 44 mm (h). Each breast of the tunic has two pockets with stylized flaps bearing a single reinforced buttonhole meeting a metallic grey pebbled button. All buttons on the tunic are stamped “Besonders Haltbar” (especially durable) on the reverse. The cuffs of the sleeves are rolled up to a depth of 155 mm and securely held in place by stitching at the front and rear. The black interior lining of the body of the tunic is met at the sleeves by a black and white pinstripe liner constructed of identical rayon-blended material. There is a single interior pocket located at the top left breast, opening with a reinforced horizontal slit. The tunic measures approximately 440 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 660 mm and an overall length of 740 mm. The tunic is unmarked. Structurally, there are a some imperfections associated with wear, including several holes at the bottom of the exterior front of the tunic, staining of the bottom right pocket, and several buttons have been reattached to the tunic using improperly-coloured thread. The tunic is otherwise intact and presents in an overall very fine condition.
