Footnote: The Medal of the Campaign (AKA Patriot Medal) was instituted by Emperor Haile Selassie I on November 30, 1944, as a reward for meritorious patriots who carried on open hostilities against the enemy during the Campaign of 1936-1941. It was awarded in a single class (bronze), with palms (torches) being awarded for each year of service and worn on the medal ribbon.
