Fabricated from bronze, five are silvered, eleven are gilt, with various colours of enamels, one is maker marked "Drago", five are maker marked "Drago Paris", five are maker marked "Drago Paris Nice", two are maker marked "A. Augis Lyon", one is unmarked, in various sizes, eleven with a vertical pinback, two with a horizontal pinback, one without attachment. two with red, white and blue enamels, one in silver gilt, maker marked "LeVelle & Co. Phila., Pa. Wash, D.C." and marked "STERLING" on the reverse, measuring 24.5 mm (w) x 29 mm (h), with one push pin; the other is bronze based, unmarked, measuring 31.3 in diameter, with two push pins. Intact enamels, ranging from very fine to extremely fine.

 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
