An extensive first and second war medal bar with eight medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of 1) An Iron Cross 1914 Second Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a raised central “W”, with the re-institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm, the reverse with a central oak-leaf branch consisting of three oak leaves, with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbers on the lower arm, a raised Prussian crown on the upper arm, with “FW” in equally raised lettering directly below, measuring 43.23 mm (w) x 42.96 mm (h), with a miniature Clasp to the Iron Cross 1939 Second Class in silvered tombac attached to the ribbon. 2) A War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern). A Maltese cross in bronze, on a loop for suspension, the obverse with crossed swords between the arms of the cross and a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center, the reverse with a circular raised border of oak leaves bearing the institution date “1939” in raised numbering, measuring 48.93 mm (w) x 48.55 mm (h). 3) An Eastern Winter Campaign Medal (Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 Medaille). Constructed of silvered and patinated zink, with a large national eagle on the obverse clutching a swastika (“Hakenkreuz”) and a leftward facing Stahlhelm on the top with horizontally oriented stick grenade, the reverse inscribed with “Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42” (Winter Battle in the East 1941/42) in all capital letters with a crossed sword and laurel wreath on the bottom, on a loop for suspension, measuring 35.78 mm in diameter. 4) A Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918). A bronzed metal (magnetic) cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms of the cross, the obverse inscribed with “1914/1918” within an open-ended laurel wreath, the reverse plain, measuring 37.87 mm (w) x 37.92 mm (h). 5) A Wehrmacht Long Service Medal for 4 Years of Service (Dienstauszeichnung IV. Klasse für 4 Dienstjahre). A circular silvered metal (magnetic), on loop for suspension, the obverse with the German eagle in the centre, circumscribed in German Gothic lettering “Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht” (Faithful Service in the Armed Forces), the reverse with the raised number “4” centrally within an oak wreath border, measuring 30.15 mm in diameter, suspended from a ribbon with a “Hoheitszeichen”. 6) A War Commemorative Medal 1914-1918 (Kriegserinnerungsmedaille). A round gilt bronze medal, the obverse depicting an Ausrian eagle clutching the Austrian coat of arms, circumscribed “FÜR ÖSTERREICH”, the reverse dated “1914-1918” within an oak wreath, measuring 36.16 mm in diameter, suspended from a ribbon with crossed swords. 7) An Austro-Hungarian Commemorative medal. A round silvered bronze medal, the obverse depicting the Austro-Hungarian coat of arms superimposed on a set of crossed swords within a partial laurel and oak wreath, the reverse depicting a steel helmet, dated “1914-1918” directly below, circumscribed “PRO DEO ET PATRIA” (God and Country), with laurel leaves at the bottom, measuring 36.94 mm in diameter. 8) A Bulgarian Commemorative medal. A round gilt bronze medal, the obverse depicting the Bulgarian coat of arms superimposed on a set of crossed swords within a partial laurel and oak wreath, the reverse is dated “1915-1918” within a wreath, measuring 32.20 mm. Suspended from a medal bar, each medal suspended via their period original ribbons, with a zink core, a field gray wool backer, and a horizontal pinback, measuring 231 mm (w) x 57 mm (h), in overall better than very fine condition.
