Germany, Luftwaffe. An Observer Badge, Cloth Version

(Luftwaffe Beobachterabzeichen, Stoffversion). Instituted on 19.1.1935 by Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Göring. (Issued 1935-1945). Constructed of multi-coloured machine embroidery; the obverse consisting of a laurel and oak wreath, with an eagle superimposed on the front clutching a mobile swastika in its talons, on a dark gray wool backer, unpadded, measuring 62 mm (w) x 63 mm (h), in mint and unworn condition.
