Constructed of hollow Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a white enameled Christ Cross with Gold borders joined through the arms by a green and red enamel laurel wreath, the obverse presenting with a central medallion composed of a Gold relief of Duke Albrecht III of Saxony inside a blue enameled ring bearing the Order’s Motto of “ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS” (“Albert the Merciful”), the reverse presenting with a central medallion composed of a crowned royal coat of arms in Gold, surrounded by a blue enameled ring bearing the Order’s institution date of “1850”, on loop for suspension from correct replacement ribbon, unmarked, measuring 50.5 mm (h) x 37 mm (w), with a small chip in the enamels on the three o’clock arm of the reverse, in better than extremely fine condition.
