Germany, Waffen-SS. A Waffen-SS EM/NCO’s Buckle and Belt

Item #M0166-19

$368
(Waffen-SS Koppelschloss und Gürtel). Constructed of polished metal (magnetic), the obverse with a standard SS motif consisting of a national eagle with open wings clutching a static wreathed swastika in its talons, surrounded by the SS motto “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” (My Word is my Honour) in raised lettering surrounding the wreathed swastika between two ropes, the reverse with a standard double-claw spring bar assembly and a soldered catch, marked, measuring 47.47 mm (w) x 64.87 mm (h). The belt is fabricated from very thick brown leather, with a smooth finish on the upper and lower sides, one end with a metal receiver clip stitched into place, the other featuring twelve rows of double vertically oriented belt holes for length adjustment - these holes were added by hand as opposed to being added onto a separate leather liner, measuring 41 mm (w) x 869 mm (h), a worn example with obvious signs of wartime wear, in overall near very fine condition.
