Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftwaffe Front Flying Clasp for Transport Pilots, Gold Grade

(Frontflugspange für Transport und Luftlandflieger, in Gold). Instituted on 30.1.1941 by Reichsmarshall Hermann Göring. (Issued 1941-1945). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse with a central laurel wreath with a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika in the centre, with nine oak leaves on either side of the wreath, the reverse plain, with a horizontal banjo style tapered pinback, with a sheet metal hinge, and a flat wire catch, measuring 77.03 mm (w) x 25.80 mm (w), weighing 17.6 grams, in fair condition.
