(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen). Instituted 20 December 1939 by Generalfeldmarschall Walther von Brauchitsch. (Issued 1939-1945). Constructed of silvered zinc, obverse depicting an oval-shaped oak leaf wreath topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika with a bow tie at the bottom, Karabiner 98k rifle with bayonet and carrying sling set diagonally across badge, maker marked with “AS” initial logo of Adolf Schwerdt, measuring 61.88 mm (h) x 46.67 mm (w) and weighing 21.7 grams, in very fine condition.
