The document is a final certificate upon completion of the Volksschule (board school) after eight years. The student would be 14 years old and most likely begin work as an apprentice of the skilled crafts and trades. His name is Kurt Heinz Raap, born October 10, 1926. His father is a worker. Raap learned at the Volksschule in Wesermünde (present-day part of Bremerhaven, northwest Germany). Despite his grades being rather average (mostly “befriedigend”, C grade, and a few “ausreichend”, D grade), and him not participating in gym class, his conduct was graded “sehr gut”, A grade. The document is dated to March 28, 1941 and signed by his teacher, who was also the school’s principal, his name is Stelljes. Measuring 209x296mm, near fine condition with scuffing of the edges, two folding creases, slight tears along the edges of the creases, and a hole in the middle with period repair.
