(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen). Instituted 20 December 1939 by Generalfeldmarschall Walther von Brauchitsch. (Issued 1939-1945). Constructed of bronzed zink, obverse depicting an oval-shaped oak leaf wreath topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika with a bow tie at the bottom, Karabiner 98k rifle with bayonet and carrying sling set diagonally across badge, maker marked with “AS” initial logo of Adolf Schwerdt, Stuttgart, measuring 64 mm (h) x 48.5 mm (w) and weighing 33.0 grams, in very fine condition.
