Constructed of gilded zink, presents as an eight-pointed gold star, the obverse depicts a six-leaved rosette, surrounded by a laurel wreath tied together at the bottom via a ribbon and ringed by a ribbed border, crossed swords through centre of medallion, the reverse plain with a vertical banjo-style slender pinback, unmarked, measuring 49 mm (w) x 49 mm (h), in very fine condition, accompanied by its period original case, constructed of cardstock with faux black leather exterior, stamp of medal embossed in gold on lid, interior with satin-type lid liner and black felt slotted medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 69 mm (w) x 67 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), in very fine condition.
