Finland, Republic. A Winter War 1939-1940 Medal, Type II for Foreigners for Front Service with Lappi and Crossed Swords Clasps

Talvisodan muistomitali. Instituted in 1940. In blackened iron, magnetic, inscribed "SUMMO IN PERICULO FAUTORIBUS ADIUTORIBUS FINLANDIA MEMOR" on the reverse, measuring 33.8 mm (w) x 39.5 mm (h), very light contact, "LAPPI" battle clasp and crossed swords clasp on its original ribbon with pinback, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Finnish Winter War Medal was instituted on August 2, 1940 and awarded to those who served during the Winter War campaign against the Soviet Union.
