Germany, Luftwaffe. An Undergarment for Flight Jacket

(Luftwaffe Unterhemd). This is an extremely well-preserved Luftwaffe flight jacket undergarment, constructed from a slate grey-coloured rayon twill with partial wool and rayon interior liners. The edges are trimmed with a white cotton twill held in place by two rows of machine-embroidered stitching. Each breast has two white cotton twill laces securely stitched into the material. The interior of the arms and shoulder area is lined with a dark green rayon material with a silky texture, while the main body is lined with thick dark brown wool. There is an additional white cotton lace stitched into the left interior breast flap. Each armpit has a 100 mm slit allowing for effective ventilation. The undergarment is unmarked and measures 422 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 630 mm and overall body length of 638 mm. There is some minor soiling of the exterior, but the undergarment is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.
