(Wehrmacht Flak Waffenrock). This is an extremely well-preserved parade tunic worn by an EM/NCO of the Wehrmacht. The tunic is constructed of a fine quality field-grey wool exterior with a dark-grey rayon-blended interior lining with a smooth, silky texture and a scalloped rear vent. The breasts of the tunic close with eight reinforced button holes meeting an equal number of pebbled, silvered magnetic metal buttons, stamped on the reverse with “EXTRA FEIN.” Stitched over the right breast is a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, constructed of machine-embroidered silver thread over dark-green wool, measuring approximately 100 mm (w) x 40 mm (h). The collar, constructed of dark-green wool, is neatly lined with red woven “Waffenfarbe” piping that continues down the length of the breast flaps, indicating that this uniform was worn by a member of an Artillery Unit. The inside right collar has two metal hooks meeting an equal number of metal loops on the left allowing the collar to sit flush with the neck. The collar bears tabs composed of a red wool base bearing machine-embroidered twisted silver aluminum bullion wire columns. Straps rest on each shoulder, constructed of dark-green wool, bordered by red piping, and finished with reinforced button holes over pebbled magnetic metal buttons, inscribed with the number “23” in red machine-embroidered thread. The left upper arm sleeve bears the badge for Oberschütze (Senior Rifleman) Rank Pip in silvered aluminum bullion wire over a dark-green wool circle. Both cuffs are turned up approximately 75 mm and held up by two pieces of stitching, outlined in red piping. The dual cuff patches are red wool backers with silver aluminum wire insignia held in place by pebbled, magnetic buttons. Striped off-white rayon-blended material lines the interior of the sleeves. The interior of the tunic contains a pocket on the upper left breast and an interior belt buckle with metal clasps. Inside the interior upper left breast pocket is a manufacturer’s label of “C.H. BUSCH, Hoflieferan BERLIN-POTSDAM.” Typed onto the manufacturer's label is “No. 1012.9.36.Herr Rudolf Schäatzel.” The interior of the shoulders has a stitched, rayon-blended loop for hanging a dagger. The collar measures approximately 400 mm at the shoulders, 600 mm in the arms, with an overall length of 710 mm. There is some minor soiling of the exterior, but the tunic is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.
