(Reichspost Einheitsmütze). This is a very well-preserved Reichspost (Imperial Mail) EM/NCO’s visor cap, constructed of a smooth dark blue wool with a black wool cap band. Dual bands of red woven Waffenfarbe piping trim the band at the top and bottom/ The front peak is pinned with a gilded zink German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 46 mm (w) x 32 mm (h). The cap band bears a central tri-colour cockade constructed of zink with a red felt centerpiece. The cap is flanked on each side by black magnetic metal buttons securing a black leather sweatband with two adjustable black magnetic metal buckles and accompanying loops, which rests upon the visor when not in use. The vulcanfibre visor is painted black on the obverse and light brown on the reverse. The interior has a 45 mm-wide brown leather sweatband securely stitched into position. There is a partial brown rayon-blended interior liner, into which is stitched a machine-woven reinforcement holding up the peak of the cap. The interior also bears a transparent rhomboid moisture guard with silver stamped inscription reading “Preisgekrönte PeküroMütze Stirndruckfrei - Deutsches Reichs-Patent Spezialhaus ‘Globus’”, along with an unused nametag. Half of the visor stitching has detached from the interior, but the cap is otherwise unblemished and presents in a very fine condition.
