The Soldbuch is dated to January 17, 1942. The cover has been denazified, the swastika underneath the eagle was etched out. It measures 100 (w) x 143 (h) mm, with substantial scuffing and creasing of the cover, some damage to the spine, and light soiling. The body of the book shows minimal wear. There is a punched hole at the bottom. Remaining near very fine.

Heinrich Bunse was born on July 8, 1904. He joined the Luftwaffe in January of 1942 and served in Luftgau-Nachrichten-Regiment (Luftgau Signals Regiment) Holland, before being redeployed to Luftgau-Nachrichten-Regiment Belgien-Nordfrankreich (Belgium/northern France) in April of the same year. Bunse was promoted to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) on February 1, 1943, and to Obergefreiter (Gefreiter) on February 1, 1944. In October of the same year, he joined Luftgau-Nachrichten-Regiment 14. Bunse received his only award on April 22, 1945, the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. Shortly before the end of the war, he was promoted to Unteroffizier (NCO) on May 1, 1945. Bunse survived the war.
