This is an extremely well-preserved inter-war Czechoslovakian Army officer’s visor cap, constructed of smooth black wool. Pinned into the centre of the cap band is an Army insignia depicting a raised lion rampant with crossed swords, constructed of bronze and measuring 46.5 mm (w) x 45 mm (w). The cap is flanked on each side by bronze buttons bearing raised crossed swords, holding in place a decorative chinstrap. constructed of twisted and rolled gold bullion wire, which rests upon the lacquered black leather visor. The interior has a 35 mm-wide brown leather sweatband securely stitched into place. The complete interior liner is constructed of a black cotton twill, with a manufacturer’s label reading clearly identifying the maker as A. Kovař, Brno, stitched into the top. The cap measures 265 mm (w) x 263 mm (l) x 116 mm (h). There is a small patch of mothing on the exterior, as well as some age-appropriate fatigue of the leather features, but the cap is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
