Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by Gebrüder Schneider

(Pilotenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombak, of two-piece construction, consisting of a laurel and oak wreath tied together at the base via three ribbons, with a large eagle clutching a mobile swastika superimposed on the badge, the reverse plain, with two rivets securing the eagle to the wreath, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked on reverse with the logo of Gebrüder Schneider, Vienna, measuring 64.84 mm (w) x 53.45 mm (h) and weighing 43.8 grams, catch demonstrates evidence of period field repair but otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
