The exterior of the cap is constructed of brown wool featuring a traditional high peak crown with tightly seated and even green piping running along the crown of the cap as well as the top edge of the cap band. A railway insignia of a winged wheel adorns the crown in addition to the Latvian coat of arms on the front of the cap. The visor is crafted of Vulkanfiber with a molded raised ridge running along the brim, it is lacquered in glossy black on the obverse and coloured in a black material on the underside. The three-piece glossy black leather chin cord rests upon the visor with black buckles on either side and is fastened to the cap via magnetic gilt buttons showing the Latvian coat of arms. The interior of the cap is lined in grey silk. Along the edge of the cap is a grey faux leather sweatband. The visor measures approximately 246 mm (w) x 240 mm (h). The interior shows some period wear and the top of the cap shows sun damage, but in otherwise in than extremely fine condition.
