Japan, Empire. A Police Palace Guard Helmet, c.1940

A steel helmet featuring a stylized gilt five-armed floral insignia affixed to the front, three rivets holding the chinstrap “D” rings on each side and at the back, through which a woven cloth chinstrap hangs through, three tongued burlap sections line the interior, a white strong connects the three sections, the front section stamped with Japanese characters, helmet shows moderate wear, and is in overall very fine condition.
