Germany, Third Reich. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Gold Grade with Miniature by Wilhelm Deumer

(Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, sun rays emanating between the arms from the centre applique, central medallion depicting a black enameled swastika ringed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“The German Mother”), on loop for suspension, reverse inscribed with institution date of “16 Dezember 1938” and facsimile of the Führer and Reichskanzler, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (h) x 35 mm (w), in very fine condition, accompanied by its miniature, of identical construction, on loop for suspension from its period original bowtie-style ribbon with horizontal pinback, marked on reverse with maker code “L/11” for Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid, measuring 16 mm (w) x 21 mm (h), in very fine condition.
