A Second War period Infantry Assault Badge, constructed of silvered feinzink, presenting as an oval oak leaf wreath, with a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse plain, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked on reverse maker logo of Gebrüder Schneider, Vienna, measuring 46.65 mm (w) x 61.30 mm (h), weighing 30.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
