This is a collection of extremely well-preserved NSDAP supporter’s insignia belonging to Leo Kirchmeier, including:
(Goldenes Parteiabzeichen). A large Golden Party Badge, constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels. The obverse presents with a central black mobile swastika within a bed of white enamels, with a red enameled edge inscribed “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.” (“National Socialist German Workers’ Party”). The reverse presents with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with an inscription of “GES. GESCH.” (“Legally Protected”) and NSDAP member number “81016” for Leo Kirchmeier. The badge measures 30.44 mm in diameter and weighs 13.9 grams. In near mint condition. Accompanied by its small version, constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels. The obverse presents with a central black mobile swastika within a bed of white enamels, with a red enameled edge inscribed “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.” (“National Socialist German Workers’ Party”). The reverse presents with a horizontal pinback and NSDAP member number “81016” for Leo Kirchmeier. The badge measures 23.92 mm in diameter and weighs 8.8 grams. In near mint condition. Includes original certificate of issue, measuring 97 mm (w) x 129 mm (h) and constructed of cardstock. Inscribed with Leo Kirchmeier’s name and party membership number. Dated 8 February 1940. In extremely fine condition.
(NSDAP Mitgliedsabzeichen). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels. The obverse presents with a central black mobile swastika within a bed of white enamels, with a red enameled edge inscribed “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P” (“National Socialist German Workers’ Party”). The reverse presents with a horizontal pinback and Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo with maker code “M1/72” for Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart. Measuring 23 mm in diameter and weighing 4.7 grams. Minor flecking of obverse enamels and tarnishing of reverse bronze, but otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
(Führerbewegung Wertmarke). Constructed of aluminum. Obverse depicts central NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. Topped by inscription of “N.S.D.A.P.”, flanked by “Gau N.Ö.” (“Lower Austria District”), above movement name and “Ein Baustein” (“One Brick”). Reverse with central, raised, leftward-facing profile of the Führer circumscribed by “Deutschland erwache” (“Germany awake”) and “Kampfspende” (“Battle donation”). Measuring 25.19 mm in diameter and weighing 1.9 grams. In extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Leo Kirchmeier was born in Litschau, Lower Austria, on 22 July 1900. He joined the NSDAP on 1 October 1927. During the early Second War period, he was employed as a butcher in Litschau and was awarded the Golden Party Badge on 8 February 1940.
