Germany, Waffen-SS. A Panzer EM/NCO's M40 Overseas Cap, by Georg Teutd

Item #G38293

$3,286
(Waffen-SS Panzer Schiffchen). Constructed of thick black wool, with fold-down scalloped panels to the front and side. The front of the cap features two insignia, a Waffen-SS eagle constructed of white machine embroidery that is clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, and a second pattern skull, also manufactured of white machine embroidery. As is the requirement with second pattern (or later used/issued) overseas caps, this cap does not feature a pink panzer soutache - the cap was likely factory refurbished to meet the new uniform requirements of the SS. The interior of the cap is lined with a grey cotton liner, marked “Georg Teutd Sohn, Tüttingen, 36, 613” in black ink. This cap exhibits some signs of wear, such as light soiling on the interior liner. It remains in overall extremely fine condition.
