A group of five First War period German badges, including a Berlin coat of Arms badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 34.5 mm (w) x 25 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a Prussian eagle badge, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 27 mm (w) x 31 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a double-headed Prussian eagle badge, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 25 mm (w) x 35.5 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a First War period coat of arms pin, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, maker marked “T.B.” on reverse, measuring 27 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a Prussian Dragoon helmet badge, constructed of gilded bronze with black enamel, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 32 mm (w) x 23 (h), in extremely fine condition.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
