Germany, NSDAP. A NSDAP Golden Party Badge by Deschler & Sohn

(Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP). A well-preserved example of a NSDAP Golden Party Badge constructed of gilded tombac and multi-coloured enamels. The obverse presents with a central black mobile swastika within a bed of white enamels, with a red enameled edge inscribed “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.” (“National Socialist German Workers’ Party”). The reverse presents with a horizontal pinback, inscription of “GES. GESCH.” (“Legally Protected”), a maker’s mark of “Deschler & Sohn, München”, and NSDAP member number “71153”. The badge measures 30.44 mm in diameter and weighs 12.6 grams. Minor flecking of the enamels is evident, along with some tarnishing of the reverse tombac, but the badge is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.
