(Beobachterabzeichen). An attractive badge in toned hollow stamped silver, obverse presenting laurel and oak wreath tied together at the base via a ribbon, with the principle observer insignia in strong red, white and black enamels, affixed using two flat wire prongs visible on the reverse, adorned by the Prussian State Crown, reverse with a sun ray design with a vertical pin assembly, a barrel hinge, a flat catch and flat pin, silver hallmark “800” on reverse of crown, unmarked however exhibiting the manufacturing characteristics of Carl Dilenius, Pforzheim who typically used the "Square" punch mark, measuring 44.17 mm (w) x 71.05 mm (h), weighing 23.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
