(Orden de Mehdauia). Instituted 1926 by Prince Moulay Hassan bin al-Mahdi, Morocco. Franco’s period issue. A six-pointed enameled blue star in silvered bronze, with obverse featuring an enameled yellow bright sun over the sea, with plain reverse, measuring 14.34 (w) x 18.77 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), near to mint.
Footnote: The Order of Mehdauia was established in the Protectorate of Morocco by Prince Moulay Hassan bin al-Mahdi on August 18, 1926. It was conferred upon national and foreign citizens in recognition of distinguished and notorious services that supported the Spanish interests in Morocco.
