Constructed of bronze, a miniature commemorative medal, with obverse depicting a facing bust of the hero HERRASTI accompanied by an inscription with his name, reverse featuring an engraved Rodrigo’s City landscape inscribed CIUDAD RODRIGO PRIMER CENTENARIO 1910 (First Centenary, Rodrigo’s City 1910), suspended by a laurel wreath, measuring 10.64 mm (w) x 22.05 mm (h - inclusive laurel wreath and integral ball), presenting bronze oxidation, very good.
Footnote: The Centennial Medal for Ciudad Rodrigo City was established by Royal Decree of 13th of March, 1911. It was founded in commemoration of the first centenary of the defense of the city of Ciudad Rodrigo from a French siege in 1810 at the Peninsular War. It was awarded to the heirs of the combatants, and to those who attended the commemorations of this battle.
