(Heer Unterbekleidung). This is a very well-preserved pair of Heer (Army) thermal undergarments, constructed of silver and grey rayon with a patchwork-style machine-embroidered pattern. The jacket features full sleeves and is closed at the top by dual white cotton drawstrings securely stitched into the breast flaps. Both armpits have 160 mm ventilation slits with reinforced stitching. The jacket is unmarked and measures approximately 460 mm across the shoulders, with a body length of 710 mm and arm length of 578 mm. There are sporadic patches of soiling, but the jacket is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition. Accompanied by period original trousers of identical material composition, with adjustable white cotton drawstring loop through waistband. The exterior waist also features an embroidered cotton tag stamped with maker’s mark “Georg R. Lank, Oelsnitz”. The trousers measure approximately 448 mm across the waist, with an overall length of 938 mm. There is a small hole on the rear of the left leg, but the trousers are in an overall near extremely fine condition.
