(U-Boot Kriegsabzeichen). Re-instituted on October 13, 1939. (Issued 1939-1945). An oval laurel wreath constructed of gilded zink, tied together at the base via a ribbon, with a national eagle placed on-top of the badge clutching a mobile swastika, and a submarine in the center of the badge, the reverse plain, with a horizontal needle style pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch, marked “f.o” for “Friedrich Orth” on the reverse, but also displaying the typical manufacturing characteristics of Orth, measuring 48.70 mm (w) x 39.80 mm (h), with approximately 70% of its original gilt remaining, in overall fine condition.
